April 15th Tea Party!

The event is being held by the Brazos County Republican Party and it taking place at the American Pavilion at Veterans Park in College Station on April 15th from 4-7pm.  There will be various speakers and items given away including Mark Levin's new book 'Liberty and Tyranny'.  Hotdogs and Hamburgers will be for sale.

Brazos County Young Republican, PAC Radio Advertisement.

The Brazos County Young Republican, PAC developed a second radio advertisement vocalizing why we vote Republican.  Both of the "I Vote Republican" radio ads were run on multiple station throughout Texas for the 2008 General Election Cycle.  To hear our ads please see them in the Multimedia section of our website.

Our next general meeting will be at C&J's Barbeque on Monday December 14, 2009 at 6:30 PM.  We have several things on the agenda including officer elections therefore please join us.  Please contact our President for more information.

February 2009 General Meeting

Dr. Don McLeroy, Chairman of Texas Board of Education, spoke on the issues currently before the Texas Board of Education, one of which was the strengths and weakness rule recently voted on to be eliminated by the board. It was a fascinating and informative presentation.  Please contact our President for more information.

 

 

October General Meeting

Representative Fred Brown spoke about the importance of getting Republican Voters out to Vote for the November election.  He also discussed some of the initiatives he has been working for in Austin to reduce the cost of college for students and well as instituting public-private partnerships to help both Texas companies needing qualified employees and students requiring financial aid to form mutually beneficial relationships that shifts the burden of tuition assistance from the public to the private industry.  Representative Brown encouraged our membership with his work to advance conservative solutions in Texas government.

 

Texas Supreme Court Justice Dale Wainwright Reception

A reception was held on August 21, 2008 at Brazos County Republican Headquarters in Bryan for Justice Wainwright.  He strong conservative justice and rising star in our Judicial system. 

Texas Young Republican Federation 2008 State Convention

The Texas Young Republican Federation 2008 State Convention was held in Rockwall, Texas August 1st through 3rd.  The event was a big success for the Brazos County Young Republicans.  We were awarded the 2009 Texas Young Republican Federation Convention to be held in Bryan / College Station in August 2009.  Please contact our Communications Director for information on attending or sponsorship opportunities.

Rob Curnock, Republican Candidate for 17th U.S. Congressional District of Texas spoke at our May General Meeting.  Mr. Curnock is running to reclaim the Texas 17th Congressional District for the conservative Republican base.  District 17th has an over 64% Republican base.  We look forward to having conservative representation in Washington once again, which has not been the case since U.S. Congressman John Carter.  For more information on the Curnock Campaign please see his website: www.robcurnockforcongress.com

Republican Candidates for the County Attorney, Shane Phelps and Rod Anderson, addressed our January General Meeting.  Both candidates demonstrated an in depth understanding of legal matters and did an effective job of presenting their platforms.  Congratulations to Rod Anderson who went on to win the Republican Primary and who is now unopposed for the November General Election.

The TYRF Winter Board Meeting was held in College Station on February 9, 2008.  We had an impressive line up of speakers including former Texas Secretary of State, Roger Williams; Dr. David McIntyre, Director of the Integrated Center for Homeland Security at Texas A&M; and Justice Felipe Reyna of the Tenth Court of Appeals.  This is in addition to grassroots training conducted by staff members of the Republican Party of Texas.  Please contact our Communications Director with any questions. 

Local Candidates Forum

We hosted a local Republican candidates forum in cooperation with the Brazos Valley Republican Women and Republican Club at the Emerald Forrest Community Clubhouse on Tuesday February 12th, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.  We had an excellent turn out with over a dozen Republican candidates and a packed house.  Please contact our Communications Director for more details.

2007 Texas Young Republican Federation Convention

The TYRF Convention this year was a big success for Brazos County.  We received numerous awards and had two members appointed to leadership positions at the state level organization.  The awards include: "Phoenix Club of the Year", "Newsletter of the Year", and Dan Garcia was recognized as "Man of the Year".  Tori Ellis, our former President, was elected as the "2007-2008 TYRF Finance Chair".  Dan Garcia was also appointed as Club Development Director for the Southern Region.
